Help:
Why can I not log in with my initial password?
There are at least two possible reasons:
On a small part of the re-registration documents, instead of the LUH-ID only -idm- is printed. In this case, you would have to have your LUH-ID communicated to you at the Service Center or at LUIS. If your LUH-ID is printed correctly, it could also be due to the poorly legible font used for the initial password. Often two consecutive v or V cause difficulties, as they can easily be confused with a w or W.
Why does it take so long for the e-mail with the confirmation code to arrive?
The e-mail is sent by the system immediately after your entry or confirmation. The e-mail should not take longer than five minutes to arrive in your mailbox. If you have not received a message after this deadline, check the entered address again carefully and correct it if necessary.
Also check your mailbox: Has the e-mail landed in the spam folder? Or have you exceeded your storage quota? On the login page you can have the e-mail sent again by clicking "Send" once more in item one.
What happens to my old accounts?
The services are affected by the changeover to IdM in different ways:
- WLAN/VPN:
You can apply for a new, initially additional account via the IdM. You should definitely do this and no longer use the previous account (i.e. reconfigure the computers/software accordingly). - Student computers:
If you do not use the Unix account with homepage, mail etc. yourself, it would be good if you gave up the account after the WLAN changeover or had it deleted.
